Plyometrics impose high, rapid impact forces — landing ground-reaction forces commonly reach several times body weight (and depth/drop jumps can reach the higher end of that range, with forces rising further with box height and body mass). Those forces are absorbed by the ankles, knees, hips, low back, and (for upper-body plyometrics) the wrists, elbows, and shoulders. Without proper management this stress can cause acute injuries (sprains, strains) or overuse problems (tendinopathy, stress reactions, joint irritation).
