A rotational scheme — a few muscle groups per workout with long-term planning — to prevent overtraining and allow high-intensity work for each group.
The GNL rotational system rotates 3 muscle groups per workout (1 hour to 1½ hours duration). An example weekly arrangement:

| Thursday: | Quads, Hamstrings & Abs |
