How to do the Single-Arm Cable Row
Setup
Scapular adduction (retraction) is a deliberate technique for optimal lat engagement on rows — not automatic. The pull completes without it; retracting the shoulder blades increases the muscle's effective force angle. Cue it explicitly.
Keep the torso square to the machine rather than letting it rotate open toward the pulling arm -- that rotation dodges the anti-rotation demand and shortens the effective row.
