A forearm flexor that flexes the elbow and both supinates and pronates the forearm.
The brachioradialis (Ellison, 1991) has the functions: (1) flexion, (2) supination, and (3) pronation. A neutral-position hammer curl brings the brachialis and brachioradialis into play. It contracts (with the biceps brachii and brachialis) during elbow flexion.
