Gymnastic rings are two wood or plastic rings on adjustable straps, hung from a high pull-up-bar, beam, or rig. Because each ring moves independently and freely in all directions, the lifter must stabilize the load constantly — dramatically increasing neuromuscular and core demand over a fixed bar (see core-stability-vs-strength).
